Effpower was formed in 1999 to commercialise a breakthrough invention in bipolar battery technology. The technology is the result of more than twenty years of extensive research and development. This has resulted in a durable, robust and long-lasting high-powered battery with excellent cycling capabilities. The use of commonly available, low-cost materials has given the battery a very attractive cost profile. Effpower’s battery is designed for demanding applications in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). Effpower has entered a phase of industrialisation. A partnership has been formed with Banner Batterien in Austria for the manufacturing of Effpower batteries. High volume serial production is planned for mid 2009. Behind Effpower stands a strong group of shareholders, including Volvo Technology Transfer, Swedish Industrial Fund and Gylling Invest (former Gylling Optima Batteries) and the company is today financially viable to take on the challenges from the automotive industry.
