Effpower was formed in 1999 to commercialise a breakthrough invention in bipolar battery technology. The technology is the result of more than twenty years of extensive research and development. This has resulted in a durable, robust and long-lasting high-powered battery with excellent cycling capabilities. The use of commonly available, low-cost materials has given the battery a very attractive cost profile. Effpower’s battery is designed for demanding applications in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). Effpower has entered a phase of industrialisation. A partnership has been formed with Banner Batterien in Austria for the manufacturing of Effpower batteries. Behind Effpower stands a strong group of shareholders, including Volvo Technology Transfer, Swedish Industrial Fund and Gylling Invest (former Gylling Optima Batteries).
